Vera about her work:
in my opinion, painting today can only maintain its strenght and is more powerful than images that can be generated at the computer or through digital photography, if it focuses on
its own potential, and that is the effects that develop from the material itself.
For it is precisely there that painting is most powerful, where it is aware of its materiality, a
materiality, which is by definition lacking in the digital world of images.
For me, the play of the eyes is interesting, what happens when you look at the clouds and your
brain automatically makes associations. Painting can produce something similar if it stays with
itself and its possibilities.
The person looking at the clouds assigns meaning to them. In my paintings, the interpretation should be left to the viewer, and only to him.
He should be free to see what he wants and can see. For me, it is interesting to see how
different interpretations turn out, how much perception is conditioned by the subject.
Because I don’t want to give direction to what can be seen in the painting, I don’t use titles.
