Maria Vita Goral
My name is Maria Vita Goral and I am a visual artist living and working in Liège born in Ukraine.
After finishing the Lviv Art Academy in Ukraine and Liége Royal Art Academy, I was travelling a lot and participated in different art residences: Italy, Czech Republic, Poland , France etc.
Passionate about my job, my creations are all born from human contact, observations, silences, and listening, directly or indirectly evoking the state of the current world with its repetitions, its horrors, but also its splendors.
With an inner gaze, I keep the door open to poetry, imagination, and above all, to metaphor, through which I explore historical, geographical, or political aspects with the most humanist and lucid vision possible.
The prevailing notion in my creation finds its source in an open social, intercultural, political, ecological, and poetic dialogue and is based on the values of freedom, tolerance, solidarity, equality, respect for human rights, as well as responsibility towards nature and a commitment to peace.
Sculpture, installation, drawing, urban art, architectural or rural spaces, and also landscapes occupy a major place within my discipline.
The diverse intercultural dialogue through these techniques allows me to develop a desire for coexistence in society and in nature, in order to broaden “knowledge of the other”.
The major impact, in my view, of the art discipline is that it contains within itself a possibility of bringing people together since the dawn of time in a democratic, open and accessible way.
