Islam Abdelkader

Islam Abdelkader (b. 1989) is an Egyptian designer and maker with a background in architecture, currently based in Maastricht. His practice investigates the relationship between the human body and its surroundings, expressed through (preferably) site-specific interventions and hand-crafted works. He engages with diverse media, including ceramics, video, and drawing. Grounded in social inquiry and driven by material research, his work draws on architectural methodologies while embracing a sense of playful absurdity.
