Elli Ott
elli ott is a visual artist who grew up at the Baltic Sea and is currently based in Aachen, Germany. Through sculpture and installation she explores the interconnections of human bodies and other bodies-of-water. She is interested in body memory, in relating vulnerabilties, in shared materialities and (hi)stories that challenge the idea of discrete bodies. Her work is informed by her degrees in politics, wooden boat building, craft design and art. Her research spans various other fields of interest, including ecology, psychology and physics. Her work has been exhibited in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. She received different scholarships, such a one-year-scholorship by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and took part in artist-in-residence programms at Künstlerhaus Lukas, Ahrenshoop (2024), Salmastra, Sicily (2025) and Kunstverein zu Rostock (2025).
