Painting is a place from where I look at and feel the world, it’s an attitude that transcends aesthetic boundaries and influences my daily life. While I’m painting I can stop time and enter into other coordinates of reality. A slower reality, with a human time-space, different from the fast and fragmented existence stimulated by technological advances. Today it is easy to live in an expanded reality. Our technological prothesis allow us to modify the time and space of our social and cultural lives. We can live a lot of experiences in different realities at the same time. Life has become fragmented into innumerable layers of virtual realities superimposed onto physical existence.
This layered existence is the world that I feel and paint. A world multiplied to infinity and which moves and progress into all imaginable directions. Fragment, transience, movement, simultaneity, superimposition are the new alphabet with which I work. My paintings are the chromatic expression of these sensations. I interrupt gestures and planes of color with diagonal lines that create visual rhythm. I cut painted canvases and sew them together. I work to create new harmonies, a new way of allowing different worlds coexist in a state of permanent change and movement. Painting is a way to preserve my subjectivity.
